Welcome to Longview United Methodist Church, where we strive to nurture everyone and send them into the world filled with God's love and grace. We affirm all people to be of sacred worth--including those of every ability, age, race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, family configuration, economic and housing status, and religious background. As a reconciling church, we support full inclusion for all people in every aspect of church life, including pastoral ordination and marriage.

Our Mission is to share the love of Christ by reaching out, accepting people as they are, nurturing and strengthening one another in our living relationship with God, and going forth in faithful service and celebration.

Longview United Methodist Church is a beacon of diversity and well known for its steadfast commitment to serving the LGBTQ+ community. Our diversity provides insights to needs. As the body of Christ, we hear the call to provide reliable sources of nourishment, shelter, and community to all.

The Mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world as we love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.

We are a community of faith who takes seriously the words of Jesus to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind AND to love our neighbor as ourselves. As a community we seek to act justly, love mercy, and walk with humility. You will find that our motto "All Means All" means that we are a 'come as you are' congregation who provide a place for community, contemplation and comfort.  We embrace diversity. You are welcome here. 

We meet Sundays at 11 a.m. for worship. Our service is livestreamed and can be viewed under the Livestream tab above. If we have technical difficulties, you can find us streaming on our Longview Umc Facebook page. 

We are an open, welcoming, and mutually supportive community of Christian believers.

This is a place of refuge from abuse of church power; a place of shelter from thoughtless imposition of church doctrine; a place of sanctuary from religious persecution in all its forms.

If you have been hurt by religion in the past - put down for who you are, how you think, and what you believe, declared unworthy, cast out, or rejected by someone claiming to be God's helper - you may feel safe to rest in this community. We will share here together - all of us in the rejection of the last, the lost, and most lonely of our world, and in the rejection of our Lord. In this companionship we will come together - all of us -as precious children of God's creation.

Your freedom is precious. Your desire to explore your own spirituality is honored. You are invited to just "be" here; to sit, to pray, to slip into God's presence on your own, or to sing along as a full participant in the praise, thanksgiving, and celebration of this community.

You will not be a stranger in our community. You will be accepted for who and what you are, a precious child of God.
